The Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce is 500+ members strong. The following list describes several avenues that the chamber can help you promote and grow your business. If you would like to receive more information about the benefits of becoming a member, please contact the GWACC office at email@example.com or call us at 908-233-3021.
Membership directory – All members are listed in our online membership directory. Click on the Directory link above to access the online directory, which increases the SEO of your website. Every two years the chamber publishes a printed Membership Directory. Our most recent directory was published in May, 2016. Every member is entitled to one hard copy. Contact us if you haven’t received your copy or stop by our office.
Electronic communication – One of the many benefits of GWACC membership is our Constant Contact email communication capability. At your request, as a member, you’re entitled to one FREE dedicated email blasts per calendar year. This is an email communication to the GWACC members and/or subscriber list promoting an upcoming event that you are hosting, promoting a special offer, or simply providing information about your products and/or services. After one FREE email communication, at your request, the GWACC will communicate your event for a fee of $50.00 per request. Nonprofit organizations receive a 50% discount on this fee. Before sending us your content, read our email blast best practices document and fill out our email marketing form. From the day we receive all of your completed text and images, we require a two week lead time.
Opportunity to serve on committees of special interest to you – Within the chamber we have many different committees that work hard to develop specific areas of interest. Some of our committees include membership, women’s networking, marketing & PR, nonprofit, the GWACC scholarship foundation, the golf outing committee, and Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!). If your area of interest is not represented, we are always open to new ways of serving our members. Joining a committee is one of the best ways to network. Click here to download an application to join one of our committees or contact Gene Jannotti, executive director.
Network with hundreds of other businesses – There are multiple networking events for you to attend and get the word out about your business. The events are held both in the morning and evening to accommodate your schedule. Find an upcoming event.
Host networking events to showcase your business – Nothing works better to promote your business or organization than inviting people to your location. You can host a networking event at your store or office so other professionals become familiar with you and your business. You provide light beverages and food and we promote the event for you. You also get to spend a few minutes talking about your business or organization. Contact Heather or Etya to express your interest.
Member discounts – You have the opportunity to offer discounts to other Chamber members to encourage intra-chamber commerce. The discount can be a flat amount or a percentage; it’s up to you. At the same time, you can save on many products and services your business needs by buying from other members. Log into your member account to specify the discount you’d like to offer other members. To find offers, go to the business directory and select the “discounted” radio button next to the search field.
Opportunity to connect with local, state and federal government officials – Several times a year we are asked to bring local business people together to meet with government officials at all levels. If you are interested, this is your opportunity to let your representatives know what you need from them.
Participate at steep discounts in some of the largest street fairs in NJ – Every year Spring Fling, Garwood Rocks, and FestiFall draw up to 50,000 people to our area. As a chamber member you can participate at over 60% OFF the normal booth rate. You can’t get more exposure for less anywhere! Contact Donna Vella at This Is It! Productions for more information.
Attend and/or present educational programs – Now more than ever we need to stay on top of new ways to build, run and promote our businesses. The rapid changes in technology, media and the economy make it imperative that we keep learning. Perhaps you have valuable information to give to others or maybe you want to attend a program on a particular topic. Either way, these events are a great way to stay informed and current.
Connect with business people from many other area chambers and business organizations – The Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce draws membership not only from the five towns we serve and beyond. We also work with many other organizations to co-host events and promote our members. Your job is to get as big a piece of the pie as you can. Our job is to make that pie larger so your piece gets bigger.
Introductions/Referrals – If you would like an introduction to another chamber member, feel free to contact us and we’ll do our best to get you connected. Though we try to get to know all our members, active members and those who come to our events stay top of mind. Get involved and let us get to know you!
Build a strong local economy – By joining together to promote each others businesses we develop a strong local network. Getting to know and trust other members leads to reputable, high-quality referrals.
Credibility – Our office gets calls all the time for information on local businesses. People like to know that you are a member of the Chamber of Commerce because it means you support the development of your local community.
